If phone calls are essential to your business, you can use conversion tracking to help you see how effectively your ad clicks lead to different kinds of phone calls.
Unlike a "Call From Ads" conversion, a website call conversion actually tracks the number of calls from potential leads that you've received that landed on your website after clicking an ad.
You can then use this data to drill down on which campaigns, ad groups or even keywords are driving you the most relevant traffic.
The simplest way to set up Website Call Conversions is to use Google Tag Manager to add a call conversion tag to your website.
Once this is done, all you need to do is:
1. Go to tools and settings > Conversions
2. Click the blue "plus" button to create a new conversion
3. Select "Phone calls" & "Calls to a phone number on your website"
4. Enter your details
5. Add the tracking ID to your Website Call Tag in Google Tag Manager
